"Not Okay"

Zoey Deutch goes viral for all the wrong reasons in “Not Okay.” A new teaser for Quinn Shephard’s second feature introduces us to Danni (Deutch), a friendless aspiring writer who fakes a trip to Paris with the hopes of boosting her social media presence. A string of terrorist attacks lead to Danni returning home from her imaginary travels a hero.

“Have you ever wanted to be noticed so badly you didn’t even care what it was for?” Danni asks in the trailer. Now an influencer and advocate, her wildest dreams have come true. But it’s not long before her house of cards comes tumbling down, and she’s being described as a “fraud,” “dumbass,” and “sociopath” on social media.

Shephard made her feature debut with 2017’s “Blame,” which she also starred in and wrote. Her other acting credits include “The Miseducation of Cameron Post” and “Hostages.”

“Not Okay” launches on Hulu July 29.
