Impossible Foods is voluntarily recalling certain imitation chicken products after they received reports that “small pieces of wood” were found in them. According to Impossible Foods, 22 lots of frozen Impossible chicken nuggets produced by their co-manufacturer contractor, OSI Industries, LLC, between Oct. 20 and Nov.23 have been removed from store shelves out of an abundance of caution; the remaining products should be safe to eat since they are manufactured after the recall dates.

These are the three products affected by the recall:

You can tell if your bag is affected by the recall by looking at the SKU number and lot number which is found next to the “if frozen, use by” date. The lot number begins with letters “OFA” followed by a string of seven numbers. You can find the full list of affected lot codes here.

Eating the wood could lead to a choking hazard or other injuries. There are no mention of any injuries in their recall. Impossible Foods has reached over to their co-manufacturer to make sure they eliminated the use of the wood that was the source of the issue.

If you purchased one of the affected products, Impossible Foods is asking you to dispose of the product and not consume it. They are offering those affected by the recall a coupon good for another purchase by completing this request form. You’ll need to know approximately when and where the product was bought, and submit an image of it.

If you have more questions about the recall, you can reach Impossible Foods by filling out this form.
