A recent study identified the top risk factors that contribute to faster brain aging and cognitive decline, and one may surprise you: air pollution1. After testing five of the most popular options, I’ve learned that air purifiers are not all created equal. Since this isn’t an area where you want to cut corners, allow me to explain why well-being enthusiasts (myself included) are flocking to the Jaspr for cleaner air and better health. But first, let’s break down the research:What sets the Jaspr apart
It’s sleek & aesthetically pleasing
I know this isn’t the most important factor when finding a high-quality air purifier, but I’d be remiss not to mention how visually appealing the Jaspr is. The modern design blends in well and doesn’t take away from my room’s aesthetic at all.
It’s durable
Yes, the Jaspr is the investment ($999), but you can tell right away that this thing is built to last—which explains why the brand confidently offers a lifetime warranty. The machine is crafted from white cold-rolled matte steel, and even the filter has a steel cage to keep it protected.
It’s also worth noting that the Jaspr works (and looks) better than my former (more expensive) air purifier and has a much sturdier construction.
The filter is powerful
The Jaspr uses a three-stage filter with industrial-grade strength. The sensors are extremely sensitive, detecting PM2.5 particles and VOCs in the air and correcting the air quality in real-time.
It captures 99.9% of ultra-fine particles as small as 0.1 microns, combatting wildfire smoke, mold, allergens, and other common (and harmful) indoor air pollutants. My last air purifier covered 1,000 square feet, but the Jaspr covers up to 1,600 with 8-foot ceilings.
It’s intuitive and easy to use
The machine’s control panel is located on top, with an easy-to-read display that shows the current air quality. There’s a button to adjust the feed of the span, along with an option for “turbo mode” (a deep clean)—but all you really need to do is set the machine to “smart mode” and it will automatically adjust the filter speed based on your current air quality.
It’s fast-acting
When I first plugged in the Jaspr, it took less than a minute to read the air quality in the room. I love that I can see and hear the machine ramping up while I cook—and it eliminates odors and smoke so quickly.
The Jaspr has a 430 CFM airflow rate for max output, and the machine’s cylindrical design gives it 360 degree airflow for more effectiveness than those that only filter through the top or one side.
I can feel the difference
For some background, I’ve tested air purifiers from four other popular brands: AirDoctor, Dyson, Molekule, and Coway. While a few of those were great, I’ve been blown away by my experience testing the Jaspr—and it’s only been one week.
Other air purifiers gave me peace of mind, but within one hour of plugging in the Jaspr my air actually felt cleaner. What’s more, I slept better than I had in weeks (and my Oura scores proved it).
The most surprising outcome is that my HRV (a key predictor of longevity) went up as well. I know air pollution is associated with increased cardiovascular risk5, but I was not expecting to see a measurable impact on my own heart health scores!
While reading through the 100+ positive Jaspr reviews, I found I’m not the only one who’s experienced these powerful perks. Many others tout better sleep, and a few note their own HRV improvements.
I don’t personally suffer from allergies, but my boyfriend does and he’s reported fewer symptoms since we started using the Jaspr. Some reviewers say it’s even helped them stop snoring!
More perks:
Throughout most of the day the Jaspr is whisper-quiet. It's only louder in “turbo mode” or when the air is particularly polluted (e.g. when I’m cooking or my window is open to the New York City streets).Filter replacement is incredibly easy. It only needs to be replaced every six months and takes less than 30 seconds. There’s a “lights off” function that allows you to fully dim the display while you sleep.Although it’s fairly large, the Jaspr is very lightweight and easy to move from room to room if needed.
The takeaway
You can’t control the air pollution where you live, but you can keep the air in your home as clean as possible. My advice? Let the Jaspr clean up your air so your lungs don’t become the filter. Your future health will thank you.
