TP-Link’s new blazing-fast Wi-Fi 6E routers coming later in 2021
TP-Link is introducing a refreshed lineup of routers and mesh systems with support for the Wi-Fi 6E standard at CES 2021
TP-Link is introducing a refreshed lineup of routers with support for the Wi-Fi 6E standard. Announced on the first day of CES 2021, the new networking solutions are just the start of new tech coming out of the show so far.
Leading the lineup is the Archer AX96. This router has support for Wi-Fi 6E, which means in can handle speeds of up to 7,800 Mbps. It sports what TP-Link is calling “Smart Antennas,” which can help extend coverage in different scenarios. Inside, there’s also a 1.7GHz quad-core CPU.
Next up is another Wi-Fi 6E router, the Archer AX206 router. Sporting a 2GHz quad-core CPU, this is a faster router, as it has two 10Gbps ports if your internet speed is capable of reaching that speed.
Do note that these two routers are “triband” routers, which means you get both of the traditional 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections found on other routers, as well as the 6 GHz network. As we explained in an earlier Wi-Fi 6 article, thanks to faster data rates, lower latency, and less interference, these routers allow for the best possible connections to newer devices that support the Wi-Fi 6 standard.
In addition to the routers, there’s the new Deco X96 mesh Wi-Fi system, which now supports 6GHz, 5GHz, and 2.4GHz spectrums. This is meant to boost your existing network. It sports AI-Driven Mesh tech that “intelligently learns the network environment to provide ideal Wi-Fi unique to your home.”
The Deco X76 Plus, meanwhile, is another Wi-Fi 6E mesh system. This one, though, has a built-in speaker and artificial intelligence features. TP-Link notes that with an app, you’ll be able to bring all of your products together. As mesh systems, these devices do not directly connect to Wi-Fi, but rather boost your existing networks and improve connectivity between the nodes.
Other products revealed by TP-Link at CES 2021 include the Deco Voice X20. This is another Mesh Wi-Fi 6 system, witha smart speaker built-in. There’s also the HS220M, which is a smart, Wi-Fi, motion-activated dimmer switch.
TP-Link did not share pricing on any of these products. The company notes that the products will roll out this year, but did not give a specific time frame for when they can be purchased.
