"Don't Worry Darling"

“It’s all about control,” says Florence Pugh in a new trailer for “Don’t Worry Darling.” Olivia Wilde’s sophomore directorial effort sees the “Little Women” Oscar nominee reevaluating her home, husband (Harry Styles), and reality when cracks begin to surface in her utopian community, Victory.

Victory is described as “a different way,” a “better way.” It’s “safe and secure,” and offers “things money can’t buy.” Alice (Pugh) has doubts. “Keep calm and carry on,” she’s warned. The spot suggests that this simply isn’t possible — Alice’s life is unraveling, and she’s incapable of pretending otherwise.

Wilde made her feature directorial debut with 2019’s “Booksmart.” Her on-screen credits include “Richard Jewell,” the “TRON” franchise, and “House.”

Pugh’s best known credits include “Black Widow,” “Little Women,” and “Midsommar.”

Penned by “Booksmart” scribe Katie Silberman, “Don’t Worry Darling” arrives in theaters September 23. Wilde and Gemma Chan (“The Eternals”) co-star.
