Travel Counsellors records sales of £936m for 2023 financial year
Agency has already booked £350m of departures for 2024
Travel Counsellors has recorded overall sales nearing £1bn for the 2023 financial year.
The homeworking agency achieved a total of £936m, up 25% on 2022, with corporate sales accounting for £210m of the amount.
The figures were announced by Travel Counsellors chief executive Steve Byrne at the company’s annual conference in Manchester today (November 25).
“By being all in over the past 12 months, we have achieved incredible things,” he told delegates in his opening speech.
“It [the results] is a testament to the power of relationships, and if there’s one business that celebrates and signifies how relationships count and can build a lasting business, it’s this community.”
For the first time, more than 600,000 people travelled after booking through a Travel Counsellors agent in a single year, reported Byrne.
“That means over 600,000 people put their faith in us when it came to booking their holidays and corporate travel – isn’t that incredible?” he added.
Byrne revealed the company has already booked £350m of departures for 2024, despite a “challenging external market”.
But he said the most important aspect to him is the wellbeing of the firm’s agents, who he labelled “the lifeblood of our business”.
Travel Counsellors recruited more than 300 agents in 2023, mainly through the acquisition of Holidaysplease, while over 70 people joined the company’s support team in its head office.
