Travel Counsellors welcomes 14 new ‘gold’ agents at annual dinner

Travel Counsellors celebrated the efforts of 14 agents who joined the ranks of top-performing business owners this year during the company’s annual gold dinner.

A total of 117 agents and more than 20 support team colleagues were among the guests at the Imperial War Museum Duxford in Cambridgeshire on Sunday (February 23).

Karina Fox-Andrews, director of sales and performance at Travel Counsellors, said: “Bringing our community together to celebrate their incredible achievements is a real highlight for so many, and as our gold [agents] continue to deliver outstanding travel experiences for both leisure and corporate clients, it’s a real honour to recognise their hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence in travel.”

The evening began with demonstrations from museum team members, with a flight simulator and aircraft tours among the highlights, with the group then enjoying a drinks reception and a three-course gala dinner under the wings of a Concorde aircraft. An awards ceremony and entertainment followed.

Wirral-based Sorrel Ashton, one of the 14 new-to-gold agents, said it was a “privilege” to attend the dinner and mark a milestone that “means so much”.

She added: “I couldn’t have achieved gold [status] without the ongoing support of my customers and clients, as well as the [agents] around me and support team colleagues.

“In keeping with the aviation theme, for me it now truly feels like the sky’s the limit.”

The company also toasted agents who have achieved £40 million in sales to date, as well as those who have held gold status for 15 consecutive years. These agents helped to deliver a business session called ‘Gold best practice’, designed to nurture high-potential business owners.

Globally, more than 260 agents hold gold status. They have been invited to attend one of six exclusive trips later this year, with luxury destinations including Canada, the Caribbean and Vietnam.

The gold dinner was sponsored by Oceania Cruises, Riviera Travel, Cunard, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Cap St Georges Hotel and Resorts, Grecotel, Nassau & Paradise Island Promotional Board, Celebrity Cruises, Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts and Colours of Oblu, Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc and G Adventures.
