Dalai Lama Opens Library and Musem 

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama marked his 87th birthday by inaugurating the Dalai Lama Library and Museum near his residence in Dharmasala. 

India’s Ladakh Region Observes Hemis Festival

The annual festival, observed on July 8 and 9 at the Hemis Monastery in Ladakh, celebrates the birth anniversary of Guru Padmasambhava, or the “Second Buddha.” A highlight of the festival is the cham dance, performed by members of the Tibetan Buddhist community.

Tibet House US Hosts Lhakar Music Festival 

In celebration of its 35th anniversary, Tibet House US has organized the Lhakar Music Festival, a virtual concert featuring exclusively Tibetan musicians. The virtual festival began on July 7 and will be available to watch through July 13. Interested participants can purchase tickets here
