Tui Group plans 20% Turkey capacity hike for 2024

Tui Group plans 20% Turkey capacity hike for 2024

Tui Group expects carryings to Turkey to rise by almost 20% next year after projecting 2.2 million holidaymakers from 14 source markets this summer.

The pan-European operator has raised capacity to the country by 40% for the summer compared to pre-pandemic 2019 with a focus on the Antalya, Dalaman, Izmir and Bodrum regions.

Currently, Tui uses more than 1,500 hotels and resorts in Turkey. Its own brand portfolio consists of 30 hotels under the Robinson, Magic Life, Tui Suneo and Tui Blue brands.

The country continues to strengthen its significance year by year, and the company expects a record number of travellers this upcoming season.

The projections came from partner events staged in Antalya and Dalaman ahead of the summer peak where group markets and airlines chief executive David Burling met more than 500 hoteliers.

He said: “We were delighted to be back and continue the longstanding dialogue we have with our hotel partners.

“Turkey is such a significant destination to all of our source markets, and we are looking forward to a substantial growth in our holiday offerings this year. “Our considerable increase for this season shows our commitment to the Turkish holiday destinations.”

Burling was accompanied by the managing directors of the source markets and group product and purchasing director Helen Caron.

He added: “While being in Turkey we took the time for a deeper dive into our source market expectations for this summer, discuss our sustainability agenda and celebrated the local Tui global hotel award winners.

“Our partners in Turkey continue to deliver outstanding holiday experiences, and we see it reflected in the many accolades consistently being awarded to Turkish hotels by our guests.”
