Tui unveils new upscale hotel brand as part of Africa expansion
First Mora property to open in Zanzibar this summer
A new upscale hotel brand is being added by Tui Group as part of expansion in Africa.
The first Mora property is to open in Zanzibar this summer as part of a pipeline of eight new hotels across The Gambia, Senegal, Tanzania, Kenya and Cape Verde.
In addition to The Mora, the first Tui Blue hotel is also planned in Kenya with 117 rooms located in Kilifi County on the Indian Ocean.
Other locations are being sought though management and franchise agreements in key destinations including Mauritius, Tanzania and Kenya.
Tui Hotels & Resorts already has a 76-strong portfolio in north Africa.
The total portfolio in Africa comprises more than 90 hotels with over 30,000 rooms across seven countries.
Tui Blue managing director Artur Gerber said: “With our variety of hotel brands, we will create new hotel experiences in Africa for different target groups – from price-conscious holidays in a Tui Suneo hotel via our global brand Tui Blue to a new luxury experience with The Mora.
“We are looking forward to contributing to the development of the African hospitality industry and working together with local communities.”
