Virgin Voyages claims ‘record-breaking’ wave period

Brilliant Lady attracts ‘stronger-than-anticipated’ future bookings

Virgin Voyages claims ‘record-breaking’ wave period

Virgin Voyages has claimed it has had “a record-breaking” January, leading to the most successful wave period in its history.

The adult-only line reported a 60% boost in revenue and a 40% increase in bookings compared to the same period last year.

Sailings in the first quarter of the year have nearly sold out, the line added, with limited cabin availability in the second quarter.

There has been high demand for summer 2025 voyages in the Mediterranean, a repeat rate of up to 60% on selected voyages and “stronger-than-anticipated future bookings” for new ship Brilliant Lady, which will launch in September 2025.

Brilliant Lady will sail US itineraries for its first season, including from New York, Miami, Los Angeles and Seattle to Alaska.

Nirmal Saverimuttu, Virgin Voyages chief executive officer, said: “Our strongest start ever is a testament to our award-winning service and experience, our no nickel and diming value inclusions, the launch of additional destinations with longer itineraries from eight to 14 nights and more than 30 new ports coming online from Alaska and Iceland to Turkey and Portugal. I also can’t forget about the bucket list Panama Canal voyage.”

“2025 is looking like a red-letter year with new food concepts, new music, more comedy-based entertainment, a new ship that completes our fleet, the return of Eat & Drink month and special sailings such as our  Celebration Voyages and Marvellous Voyages.

“Every innovation and evolution is based on the feedback from our travel advisors and customers.”
