Vistara launches direct flights from Mumbai to Heathrow

Vistara has announced direct flights from Mumbai to Heathrow, which will operate five times a week.

The service, due to launch on June 1, will fly on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday on Boeing’s 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, which has a three-class configuration – business, premium economy and economy.

Bookings for the flights are being progressively opened on Vistara’s website, its mobile app and through travel agents, said the airline, which is in the process of merging with Tata Group-owned Air India.

It added it plans to expand further into the European market with a gradual increase in its widebody fleet.

Vinod Kannan, chief executive officer at Vistara, said: “Mumbai-London will be our fourth route to Europe after connecting Frankfurt, Paris and London with Delhi.

“This additional gateway offers our customers more options and flexibility with their travel itineraries.

“We look forward to further expanding our presence in Europe, especially with more widebody aircraft joining our fleet in the coming months.”
