Etihad to Add Charlotte Service, Purchase New Aircraft
Etihad Airways will start a new Abu Dhabi-Charlotte route in May 2026 and has ordered 28 Boeing planes for delivery starting in 2028.

Etihad Airways on May 4, 2026, will launch nonstop service between Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and Charlotte, N.C., the carrier announced Friday.
The route will operate four times weekly with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft configured with business and economy cabins. Charlotte will become Etihad's sixth U.S. destination, joining New York, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Boston and Atlanta, which begins service July 2.
In addition, the carrier announced an agreement to purchase 28 Boeing wide-body planes, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2028. The deal includes a mix of Boeing 787 and 777X aircraft, powered by GE engines, according to Etihad.
