What’s Your Travel Uniform?

In a few weeks, my mom and I are taking a short trip to Paris — the city where she birthed my sister and me, where she raised us for three years, and where we would wiggle our toddler arms into baguettes to pull out the soft white bread. My mom has been grieving her husband and I’m excited for this trip to help cheer her up in a way that sometimes only cheese and walking can do.
I can’t wait. So! I’m curious: What do you usually pack for cold-weather trips? For this February adventure, I’ve landed on a basic travel uniform, which I’ll mix up a little each day but generally stick to:
First up: a navy sweater, which feels warmer and softer than black.
Underneath, I’ll pull on a layering tank. I recently discovered and LOVE them. It’s so pretty to have a little lace at the neck (here it is, in action). Although this one is splurgy, I’ve already worn it four times in the first two weeks, so the cost per wear is going to be good.
Next, a trusty pair of boy jeans that’s classic and comfy.
Then a green mac coat to wear over everything. I’m lucky to have my great-aunt’s hand-me-down, but here’s a good dupe.
The best socks, which come in 18 colors.
And, finally, last but not least, white sneakers, which can take you from croissant runs and museum rambles to park adventures and wine bars. (I’m also VERY into this retro version!)
Thoughts? What do you wear on fall/winter trips? I’d love to hear any recs. (I also finally got into packing cubes, and thank you so much to the reader who recommended Baby Cheeks:)
P.S. My England packing list, and a genius honeymoon packing tip. Plus, a CoJ trip to Paris a while back with the world’s tiniest elevator, eeeeeeeeeks.
