American Express Global Business Travel has promoted Evan Konwiser to chief product and strategy officer, succeeding Mark Hollyhead, who recently left the company.

Konwiser has been with Amex GBT for a decade, most recently as chief marketing and strategy officer as well as roles in sustainability, global communication and public affairs. He was named one of BTN's 25 Most Influential in 2016 for Amex GBT's acquisition of booking and expense technology KDS, which built Amex GBT's Neo offering.

In his new role, Konwiser will continue leading Amex GBT in strategy while also leading the company's product team. His marketing leadership role will be taken by Alisa Copeman, Amex GBT's SVP of global marketing who now has been promoted to chief marketing officer, Amex GBT announced.

Former chief product officer Hollyhead, who also was president of Egencia and had joined Amex GBT upon its acquisition of Egencia in 2021, announced his departure from Amex GBT on LinkedIn last month as he focused on "an urgent family health matter."

"I’ve loved my journey over the last 14 years," Hollyhead said in his post. "We chose to do things differently, never swayed from our commitment of delivering the very best customer experience, pushed on with genuine [research and development] and technology investment, built great product and scale, and all while nurturing a culture of simplicity and togetherness that made it feel like we could take on (and complete) the most audacious goals."
