China Southern Airlines to start Heathrow-Beijing service
Daily flights begin on Wednesday to Chinese capital
China Southern Airlines will start a new service between Heathrow and Beijing Daxing airport on Wednesday (June 7).
The route will be operated by a 314-passenger Airbus A350, departing from Heathrow at 22:30 and arriving in Beijing at 15:25 Beijing the next day.
The estimated flight time is nine hours and 55 minutes.
The return flight departs from Beijing at 11:55 and arrives in London at 15:45, after a flight of about 10 hours and 50 minutes.
Before the pandemic, China Southern flew direct UK services to Guangzhou, Wuhan, Zhengzhou and Sanya.
The airline has now resumed its daily Guangzhou service, with flights having restarted on April 10.
China Southern also offers domestic connections to 27 cities within China, as well as international onward flights to Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul and Hong Kong.
News of the Beijing link follows the resumption of British Airways’ Heathrow-Beijing service. It operates as a codeshare with China Southern, along with domestic routes within China.
