Ideally, the prospect of saving lives and the personal satisfaction of helping others would be motivation enough to get us to donate blood regularly. But the Red Cross knows that while we can sometimes be driven by altruistic motives, at other times, it helps to sweeten the pot with a giveaway—be it a gift card, a voucher, or, right now, a cool (Joe Cool) Snoopy T-shirt.

The Red Cross has teamed up with Peanuts to give you something a little better than an “I donated” sticker. If you sign up and donate blood by April 23, you’ll get to take home a T-shirt featuring Joe Cool, Snoopy’s alter ego. (According to the Peanuts Fandom wiki, “To become Joe Cool, the beagle simply puts on a pair of sunglasses, leans against a wall, and says his name is Joe Cool,” so by the transitive property of coolness, wearing this shirt will make you cool—but donating blood is already pretty cool.)

How to give blood and get the Snoopy shirt

To find your nearest blood drive center, enter your address or zip code here. The results will be sorted by date or distance, showing you nearby centers with donation appointments available. Pick the most convenient location and select your time slot. If you see “drive full” in gray, it means all appointment slots are filled. You can extend your search by distance or select additional days to find more available slots. Keep in mind the Snoopy T-shirts are available in limited quantities.

When you donate, you’ll also be automatically entered into a raffle to win a three-night trip for two to Sonoma County, California. The trip includes flights, hotel, $1,000 gift card and special tours of the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Snoopy’s Home Ice skating arena.

If you have questions or have trouble scheduling an appointment on the website, call 1-800-733-2767 (you might be able to ask if the shirts are still available).
