EasyJet to start new route to Tbilisi next April
Flights will operate from Luton to Georgian capital
EasyJet will launch flights to Georgia for the first time with a new route starting from Luton to Tbilisi next year.
Seats have gone on sale from Wednesday (September 18) to the Georgian capital.
Flights will start from April 1, 2025, and will operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer season.
The airline has also launched new routes to Tbilisi from Geneva and Milan Malpensa.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said: “We are delighted announce a new route to a brand-new destination on our network today, and to be providing unique direct connectivity between the UK and Tbilisi in Georgia for the time from next summer, providing even more choice for our customers flying from London Luton.”
The airline said Tbilisi offers a “rich blend of history, diverse architecture and culture” with its picturesque Old Town streets, historic sulphur baths and a lively arts scene.
The budget airline recently based an additional Airbus A320 aircraft at its Luton base, meaning easyJet’s Luton fleet now comprises 25 A320 family aircraft.
British Airways will start services to Tbilisi from Heathrow next summer after a gap of more than a decade. Flights will run four times a week from March 30 using two class Airbus A320-neo aircraft.
