Fred Holidays appoints Tricia Birmingham as director of tour operations

Fred Holidays has appointed Tricia Birmingham to the newly created role of director of tour operations.

Birmingham joins the operator from dnata Travel, where she spend nearly five years working as director of product, commercial & sales centre at Gold Medal.

She has also held senior positions at Shearings Holidays, Tradewinds and Cresta Holidays, and boasts more than 20 years’ experience in the sector.

Fred Holidays said it has tasked Birmingham with leading the tour operating and e-commerce business, providing strategic leadership and direction to help shape the company as it enters its “next phase of growth”.

Birmingham will report to Steve Williams, managing director of Fred Olsen Travel.

“Fred Holidays is a company that I have admired for a number of years so I am excited to be taking on this new challenge,” said Birmingham.

“As director of tour operations, I will oversee the entire Fred Holidays operation including land, rail, cruise and the discover programme, showcasing the brand and its portfolio to build awareness in the industry, as well as scaling the business and supporting its growth and success post-pandemic.”

Williams said: “I am delighted that Tricia has joined us, bringing with her a wealth of experience and an impressive track record in delivering commercial value and strategic growth.
