If You Haven’t Tried Grilling Your Salad, This Recipe Will Change Your Mind
Simply satisfying (and sizzling). The post If You Haven’t Tried Grilling Your Salad, This Recipe Will Change Your Mind appeared first on Camille Styles.
When I first came across the concept of a grilled salad, let’s just say I was a bit skeptical. Despite my initial doubts, I’m a die-hard fan of grilling my veggies, so this grilled romaine easily became my favorite appetizer for pleasing summer company. This recipe transforms your classic chopped lettuce into a smoky, flavorful delight with savory and sweet toppings to enjoy al fresco in the summer heat.
When I say this salad has changed the way I view my vegetables—I mean it. Our team had the perfect recipes in mind when we partnered with Target to curate a variety of delicious five-ingredient recipes to enjoy throughout the summer. With the perfect combination of charred romaine, juicy cherries, creamy feta, crunchy walnuts, and a tangy Meyer lemon dressing, there’s nothing not to love. If you’re ready to fire up the grill and get outside, let’s eat!
Why grill your romaine lettuce?
Aside from the ease of not having to chop and dice, Romaine is sturdy enough on its own to stand up to the grill. It becomes easily charred on the outside and gets a little soft on the inside with only a short amount of time on the grill (we recommend around 2 minutes on each side). It completely transforms your typical salad into something so delicious.
How to serve grilled romaine
Your smokey and tender grilled romaine is best served on a platter, topped with a variety of summer-friendly ingredients. Target’s G&G Meyer Lemon Poppy Seed Dressing gave this lettuce the perfect sweetness, while cherries and feta created a tart contrast. Whatever ingredients you choose, make sure you take advantage of what’s in season!
