Further details outlined for 2024 conference
The Latin American Travel Association (Lata) has revealed the first residential Lata Expo Conference will feature a presentation on AI from experts at Google.
The conference, taking place on June 24 at De Vere Beaumont Estate in Old Windsor, will count the technology giant’s Ajesh Patel and Amelie Matuschka among the keynote speakers.
Author and leadership coach Errol Lawson, from the Art of Brilliance, will also deliver a speech aimed at inspiring leaders and business owners to aim high and make an impact on their communities.

The panel sessions will begin with a discussion of women in travel moderated by Zina Bencheikh, Intrepid Travel’s managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Panellists will include Journey Latin America managing director Sarah Bradley, Golden Galapagos Cruises’ Ivonne Zumarraga and Women in Travel founder Alessandra Alonso.
During the session, the panellists will discuss the state of gender equality when it comes to leadership in the Latin American travel sector.
The speakers, who promote gender equality in their own organisations, will share their career stories, offer advice to delegates, and outline the future for gender equality in the sector.
Diversity in travel will be the focus of another panel session, with further details to be announced in due course.
Other conference details have already been revealed, including travel journalist Simon Calder’s role as moderator and James Levelle’s keynote speech.
Levelle, an adventurer and filmmaker, hitchhiked more than 3,700 miles through South America with no cash, no credit cards and no mobile for his documentary Free-Ride.
Lata Expo will also feature a gala dinner incorporating the Lata Achievement Awards and the Lata Responsible Tourism Awards.
After the Expo, the second edition of the Lata Roadshow will take place between July 1 and July 3.
