Miley Cyrus Serenades Pete Davidson With 'It Should Have Been Me,' Jokes About Kim Kardashian Romance

Miley Cyrus isn't afraid to make her pal Pete Davidson a little uncomfortable. The pair are preparing to co-host the upcoming special Miley's New Year's Eve Party for NBC, and on Thursday night, they both appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Cyrus, 29, had some fun with the 28-year-old Saturday Night Live comedian.

Taking to the stage, Cyrus sang a cover of Yvonne Fair's "It Should Have Been Me," about a woman sad to see the love of her life marrying someone else.

"Pete Davidson, this song is for you. When I saw those photos, this is what I played," Cyrus told her friend as he grinned while watched the performance.

Halfway through the song, Cyrus walked over to Fallon's desk, sitting on it and draping one leg across Davidson's lap, as she took his hat and put it on.

"It should have been me," Cyrus sang, before ad libbing, "In that Lamborghini leaving that nice a** restaurant! I want to watch a movie in frickin' Staten Island."

Davidson couldn't stop cracking up, as Cyrus referenced his recent romantic outings with Kim Kardashian West

Last month, he was spotted with the 41-year-old reality star in Los Angeles, driving a Lamborghini SUV after a romantic dinner date. Davidson has also taken out his new lady love to hot spots around his hometown of Staten Island.

Davidson has not publicly addressed his romance with Kim, but he also doesn't seem to have a problem with acknowledging the hype around him.

In November, he joked about the rumors on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

"I want to address something. I feel like I want to confirm if it's real or rumor," Meyers said to Davidson. "This is something you've been reading a lot about in the press."

Grinning, the comedian replied, "Yeah, I've been wanting to talk about this because there's a lot of people I walk by, people are whispering, making eyes at me."

Davidson then quipped, "But it is true, I do have a show on Tubi coming out. The Tubi. A lot of people are shocked that I could get on a show like Tubi, but it's a real thing."

A source previously told ET, "Kim and Pete are dating and having a great time together. Pete is a romantic and goes out of his way to make Kim feel special. Kim thinks Pete is hysterical and he's constantly making her laugh, but they also have been connecting on a deeper level."

As for Cyrus and Davidson, the friends will be ringing in the New Year together with their special, which will air live on NBC and live-stream on Peacock from Miami, Florida.

Miley's New Year's Eve Party will air live on Dec. 31 from 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. ET on NBC will be live-streamed on Peacock.
