Navan Teams Up with Brex for Integrated Payment Offering

Corporate card and spend management platform Brex has partnered with Navan to launch a payment solution integrated in the Navan travel platform, the companies announced.

With BrexPay for Navan, Brex cards are embedded in Navan's, the former TripActions, travel management software, so payment on bookings through Navan is automatically reconciled, the companies said. Each booking is linked to a traveler and trip automatically via a per-booking virtual card number for reporting.

Dozens of companies [are] already live," according to a joint block post by Brex CEO Pedro Franceschi and Navan CEO and co-founder Ariel Cohen.

Brex, which works on the Mastercard network, is able to issue local currency cards in more than 50 countries, which enables customers to avoid foreign exchange fees. The partnership enables clients to ship and manage physical Brex cards for employees within the Navan platform, the companies said. In addition, companies can enforce policies via Navan on Brex T&E cards.

Engineering teams from both companies developed BrexPay for Navan, using Navan Connect, a card link technology that enables its expense management features on enrolled corporate cards. It also is built off Brex Embedded, Brex's API tool that enables connections with procurement, travel and ERP providers.

"By combining Brex's fast onboarding, global acceptance and homegrown financial stack with Navan's end-to-end business travel offering into one solution, customers now have access to a payments and travel experience that is beyond any other corporate travel and payments solution," Brex CEO Pedro Franceschi said in a statement.

BrexPay for Navan currently has "dozens of customers already live," according to a joint blog post by Franceschi and Navan CEO and co-founder Ariel Cohen.

Policy controls  and payment automation also were a key component of the integrated travel and expense offering launched last year by Center and Spotnana. The integration included a reconciliation model for travel itineraries and receipts via Center's card offering, and bookings are run through a company's policy controls.
