Happy New Music Friday! The weekend is here, which means more streaming, new playlists and the best that music has to offer -- and ET has you covered for everything in between.
Following their Super Bowl halftime performance, Kendrick Lamar and SZA announced their Grand National Tour will take over 13 stadiums across Europe and the United Kingdom this summer. Kendrick was the #1 most streamed artist on Monday following his performance both in the U.S. and globally. He claimed the entire top six on U.S. Spotify's daily charts. His music streams increased 175% on Spotify in the U.S. and his Grammy winning "Not Like Us" was up 430%.
SZA also added four new songs to SOS Deluxe: LANA, the expanded edition of her album SOS. The updated version includes "Joni" featuring Don Toliver, "Take You Down," "Open Arms (just SZA)" and "PSA."
Following his performance of the National Anthem at Super Bowl, Jon Batiste released MY UNITED STATE, a powerful two-track release that examines American identity through sound. The project features "STAR-SPANGLED BATISTE BLUES" and "NOTES FROM MY FUTURE SELF."
Shakira kicked off her highly anticipated Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour this week with shows in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. She played her extensive catalogue of hits, songs from her GRAMMY-award winning album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran and had multiple costume changes with custom looks from Zukhair Murad, Guarav Gupta and Jawara Alleyne.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation has announced their list of 2025 Performer Nominees. The nominees are Bad Company, The Black Crowes, Mariah Carey, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, Mana, Oasis, Outkast, Phish, Soundgarden, The White Stripes. The 2025 Performer Inductees will be revealed in late April, along with those Inductees entering the Hall under three special committee categories: Musical Influence, Musical Excellence and the Ahmet Ertegun Non Performer Award. This year's Induction Ceremony will take place in Los Angeles in the Fall.
Billboard has announced their highly anticipated Women in Music 2025 event which will celebrate the groundbreaking women who are shaping the future of music. This year's ceremony will be hosted by Laverne Cox on March 29 in Los Angeles. The honorees are aespa (Group of the Year), Angela Aguilar (Breakthrough Award), Erykah Badu (Icon Award), GloRilla (Powerhouse Award), Gracie Abrams (Songwriter of the Year), JENNIE (Global Force Award), Megan Moroney (Rulebreaker Award), Meghan Trainor (Hitmaker Award), Muni Long (Rising Star Award Presented by Honda Stage), and Tyla (Impact Award).
The Recording Academy revealed the 2025 inducted recordings to the distinguished GRAMMY Hall of Fame. This year's additions include eight albums and five singles that exhibit qualitative or historical significance and are at least 25 years old. The inducted recordings include JAY-Z's Reasonable Doubt, Cat Steven's Tea For The Tillerman, Santana's Supernatural, Linda Martell's "Color Him Father," Luther Vandross' Never Too Much, Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine's "Conga" and more. The inducted recordings will be honored at the GRAMMY Museum and Recording Academy's GRAMMY Hall of Fame Gala on May 16, 2025 in Beverly Hills.
In celebration of their 20th anniversary, Jonas Brothers announced JONASCON, a special one-day event taking place in their home state of New Jersey, on March 23. The event will feature live performances, DJ sets, Q&A panels, fan activations, pop-up surprises, immersive experiences, and special guest appearances to celebrate the band's two decades. To kick off their celebratory year, the Brothers penned an open letter to their fans thanking them for two decades of music and memories.
Backstreet Boys have announced they will be releasing Millennium 2.0 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their album Millennium. The deluxe re-issue will feature 25 tracks, including all 12 remastered originals, live recordings and demos. They will also release a brand new single, "HEY." The group announced a new residency at Sphere, Into The Millennium beginning July 11, and due to overwhelming demand, they added three additional shows in August.
Sabrina Carpenter has released the deluxe version of her #1 album Short n' Sweet featuring five new tracks, including a duet with Dolly Parton on "Please, Please, Please."
Selena Gomez & benny blanco are teaming up for their first project as a couple for a collaborative album, I Said I Love You First out March 21. They released their first new song, "Scared of Loving You" which was written by Selena, benny & FINNEAS. Their new album which was produced by benny and FINNEAS will celebrate Selena and benny's love story and will chronicle their entire story - before they met, falling in love and looking to what the future holds.
JISOO has released her debut mini album AMORTAGE featuring the lead single "earthquake." She describes the album as "a collection of stories about love - the highs, the lows and everything in between."
