Newmarket Holidays unwraps two festive tours for 2023
Operator also drops single supplements on five more winter breaks
Escorted tour operator Newmarket Holidays has launched two festive tours for this coming winter – one in the Peak District and the other in Hamburg.
The company has also dropped the single supplement fee on five other existing and popular winter tours, following an increase in solo bookings.
The new six-day Christmas in the Peak District tour is based in the Palace Hotel Buxton, a Victorian countryside house in the heart of the Peak District.
The tour includes a visit to Chatsworth House, a Grade I-listed property; a walking tour of Buxton; and an excursion to the market town of Bakewell.
Prices start from £756 including five nights’ bed-and-breakfast accommodation, excursions and selected additional meals, departing on December 22.
The four-day Hamburg Christmas Markets tour is based in NH Hamburg Altona and includes visits to several festive markets in the German city and a city harbour cruise.
There is also an option to join a tour of Lübeck, a medieval old town and Germany’s most extensive Unesco World Heritage Site.
Prices start from £585 including three nights’ B&B accommodation, excursions and flights. Departures are on December 8 and December 15 from Manchester and London airports.
Verity Rice, product, purchasing and operations director, said: “Germany’s charming city of Hamburg is a fantastic option for our customers as its atmospheric streets and its sizeable assortment of markets are hard to beat.
“The Peak District offers another great option for those wanting to stay a little closer to home and explore the wonders of the English countryside this winter.”
In addition, the popularity of the company’s recently launched Solo Traveller Collection has prompted five of Newmarket Holidays’ existing popular festive tours to be available to book with no single supplement.
These are Christmas in Verona and Lake Garda, Christmas in the Austria Tyrol, Krakow Christmas Markets, Edinburgh Christmas Markets and Swiss Christmas Markets.
Richard Forde, head of retail sales, added: “We’re seeing a significant rise in solo bookings and an increased demand from agents for no-single-supplement places so in response to this growing trend, and to better cater for all of our customers over the festive period this year, five of our existing popular winter tours are now available to book with no single supplement.”
