Old Bay Goldfish return with a Lisa Loeb remake
The summer snack returns for a second year as it feeds ’90s nostalgia.

Sometimes you need to say it with a song. That’s what Campbell Snacks did to reintroduce Old Bay seasoned Goldfish with help from singer Lisa Loeb.
The snack, originally released last year, sold out quickly and was a hit among fans. Emails, tweets and even phone calls to Campbell Snacks revealed that fans were requesting for the Old Bay flavor to come back for the summer. So the brand tapped Loeb, who is known for her 1994 song “Stay (I Missed You)”, and is a Goldish fan.
The Campbell Soup Co. snack brand remixed Loeb's hit song with lyrics made from fans’ social media posts into “Stay (We Missed You OLD BAY Goldfish)” including lines such as, “The greatest snack to ever grace my tongue” and, “We accidentally ate them all.”
The remixed music video will be live on Goldfish’s Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat starting today. (No word on whether Ethan Hawke, who directed the original music video, is aware of the remake.)
“The team was intent to re-create the easily recognizable, iconic details of the original set including the cat on the chair, iconic dark dress she wears, and stained glass,” Janda Lukin, chief marketing officer of Campbell Snacks wrote via email.

The campaign is the latest example of how brands are using nostalgia to win attention. Loeb is, of course, linked to the 1990s—and even hosts a show for SiriusXM called “Stay with Lisa Loeb” on the audio brand’s “90s on 9” channel.
This is the brand’s second year rolling out limited-edition Old Bay Goldfish, with the snack selling out online in hours last year, and then becoming hard to find in stores. In the last two years, Goldfish have also been flavored with Frank’s RedHot hot sauce, jalapeno poppers and Dunkin’ pumpkin spice.
Old Bay Seasoned Goldfish crackers will be sold on mccormick.com/goldfish starting today for $7.38 for a two-pack and hit stores later this month.
