Princess Cruises reveals more features of Star Princess
Sphere Class ship will feature expanded restaurants
Princess Cruises has revealed its newest ship, Star Princess, will have two expanded restaurants, a new sports area and non-smoking casino space.
The second Sphere Class ship in the fleet will also be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and include the largest geodesic dome at sea, The Dome, as well as glass-enclosed piazza, The Sphere, mirroring its sister ship Sun Princess.
The 178,000-ton ship will carry 4,300 passengers in 2,157 cabins, including 80 suites, 123 mini suites, more than 1,000 balcony cabins and 100 connecting rooms.
O’Malley’s Irish Pub and Love by Britto restaurant will be expanded on the ship with 32 and 20 additional seats respectively.
There will also be a new SkyDeck sports court for pickleball and basketball and a running track.
The non-smoking casino area meanwhile will be expanded with 68 additional slot machines.
Star Princess will sail its inaugural season in the Caribbean before moving to Alaska in spring 2026.
“After the overwhelming response to Sun Princess, we are excited to debut her sister ship, Star Princess, with added enhancements to elevate the guest experience,” said John Padgett, Princess Cruises president.
“From expanded non-smoking casino areas to new spaces for relaxation and recreation, Star Princess will deliver an unforgettable holiday for all when she launches in fall 2025.”
