Quinta Brunson Inks Overall Deal with Warner Bros. TV

Brunson in "Abbott Elementary"

Quinta Brunson is celebrating her historic Emmy noms by signing her first overall deal. The “Abbott Elementary” creator and star inked an exclusive, multiyear pact with the studio behind her breakout ABC comedy, Warner Bros. Television, making it “Brunson’s studio home for any new television projects,” per Deadline.

“Abbott Elementary” premiered in December to rave reviews. The ratings hit follows educators working at a public school in Philadelphia.

Brunson is the first Black woman to receive three Emmy nods in the comedy categories in the same year. She’s up for Outstanding Comedy Series, Lead Actress, and Writing at the September ceremony.

“I’m excited to expand my long-running creative partnership with Warner Bros. With ‘Abbott’ as our anchor, I look forward to what we’ll create next,” said Brunson, who counts “Miracle Workers,” “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” and “iZombie” among her acting credits.

Warner Bros. Television Group Chairman Channing Dungey added, “Quinta Brunson is a tour de force and a powerhouse talent, and we are beyond thrilled to be continuing our partnership with her through this new overall deal. What Quinta and her ‘Abbott Elementary’ team have achieved in the first season is just extraordinary. We cannot wait for season two, and to explore many future projects with her in the coming years. I’m so grateful that Quinta is part of our WBTV family, and I look forward to many more years of successful collaboration.”
