Refurbished Riu Palace Bavaro reopens in Dominican Republic

Riu Hotels & Resorts has reopened the Riu Palace Bavaro in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, after a “watershed refurbishment”.

The upmarket all-inclusive property has been able to expand on to the site of Riu Naiboa, a neighbouring hotel that has been demolished.

Riu Palace Bavaro now offers 32 food and beverage points, including a food court, exclusive kids’ areas and a select Elite Club zone.

Among its 994 rooms are 255 that are designed for families and groups of friends visiting the destination.

There is also a mini splash park, pirate ship, games park, cinema, multi-sports area and food catering to families with kids.

The new food court includes a pizzeria, Wok-Poke station, fried-chicken area, taqueria, Pepe’s Food, an ice-cream parlour, a sweet station with crepes and waffles, and a bar.

A total of 108 rooms are allocated to Elite Club customers, with the best views and other benefits.

The revamp also showcases the new style and design that Riu has chosen for all of its refurbishments and new-build hotels.
