Edward Norton talks up a hotel in Palm Springs: “Hey, what are you doing right now? You up for something impetuous?” Andy Garcia promotes Miami: “I’m a Miami hotel. I’m looking for someone who loves art deco elegance, good times and unexpected flavors. Someone who likes it hot—but knows how to keep their cool.” And Isabella Rossellini markets Rome: “This is a wonderful way I think to spend the weekend—don’t you? I’ll be waiting at Hotels.com,” her voiceover says.

Hotels.com’s new work is meant to tap into a new trend in traveling—what it is calling “thirst trips.” Not to be confused with thirst traps, these short weekend trips quench the need for a few days away from home relaxing by the pool. The brand expects two- or three-day trips to become more popular this spring and summer. Citing its own data, Hotels.com said travel searches for long weekends are surging.

The new series of 30-second TV ads will air in the U.S., U.K., France and Canada. The push includes out-of-home and audio, digital video and display and social media, according to a Hotels.com spokeswoman.
