Snowfall Buys AmigoGo to Enhance Collaborative Booking
Execs characterize the purchase as a “strategic move” designed to further enhance the travel tech company's new Junction One booking platform
Travel tech company Snowfall has acquired start-up AmigoGo, an app which allows groups to plan and book trips collaboratively.
Snowfall, which last year purchased online booking tool PSNGR1, said the acquisition of UK-based AmigoGo was a “strategic move” designed to further enhance its new Junction One booking platform launched earlier this year.
AmigoGo was set up by tech entrepreneurs Nick Castrioty and Josh Sparkes in 2020 and only launched to the market in 2022. The app is billed as a “Pinterest for travel” with the aim of “solving the pain points” of communal decision-making for travelers going on group trips.
Snowfall said that integrating AmigoGo would improve the group trip planning capabilities of its Junction platform, including offering self-servicing and the ability to plan, book and share travel plans.
“We are always looking at ways that we can expand and enhance the Junction tech offering, whether that is organically or by acquisition,” said Snowfall chief growth officer Simon Arvidsson.
“We are also keen to embrace tech disruptors and entrepreneurs whose knowledge and tech solutions are a strong fit for our business. AmigoGo’s innovative group trip planning solution will further strengthen Junction’s technology ecosystem.”
As part of the deal, Castrioty and Sparkes will join Snowfall’s tech and innovation team. Financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
