Southwest Airlines has launched a referral program for its Southwest Business division, the company announced Monday.
Customers that successfully refer qualified corporate travel managers to Southwest Business will earn 25,000 Rapid Rewards bonus points per referral, with a cap of 125,000 in a 12-month period. The company that is referred to Southwest Business would undergo a qualification process, and then would need to book travel using a business booking channel and complete the travel. After those three things occur, the referrer would receive the points, Southwest told BTN.
“A referral is often the best lead with highest conversion, so we are engaging and rewarding our customers for help to spread the word to those they know who would benefit from a business travel partnership with Southwest,” Southwest Business senior director of sales Silke Koehnecke wrote in an email.
The program is targeted at small and midsize companies “who never considered joining programs like ours and getting them in the front door,” according to a Southwest spokesperson.
