Sri Lanka removes pre-arrival PCR requirement for fully-jabbed

The Sri Lankan government has confirmed that fully vaccinated arrivals will no longer be required to present a negative PCR result from Tuesday (March 1).

The rules will apply to those who have had both doses of an approved vaccine more than two months before travel, or a single dose in the case of travellers aged under 18.

Those with proof of Covid recovery between seven days and six months before arrival will be deemed to be fully vaccinated if they have had a single dose of a two-dose vaccine.

Non-vaccinated travellers are still required to present a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of travel, or a lab-tested antigen test taken within 48 hours.

Travellers from the UK will be required to produce a printed letter to confirm their status, with the NHS app not accepted. Covid-19 travel insurance is also mandatory for all visitors and must be acquired if existing policies do not offer the requisite cover.
