Buddha Manjushri Empowerment & Teachings revealing the priceless value of Venerable Geshe-la’s uncommon explanation of how to meditate with Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Center.
Hundreds of Kadampas from as far afield as Hong Kong and the US, gathered together at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Center to receive the blessings of the Wisdom Buddha Manjushri and profound instructions on how to meditate from our General Spiritual Director, Gen-la Dekyong.
The event began with a large assembly of ordained Sangha renewing their ordination vows in a Sojong ceremony. Then over three days came an extraordinary sharing by Gen-la Dekyong of wisdom advice that she had received directly from Venerable Geshe-la. These teachings included uncommon personal advice on how to meditate correctly, skilfully and in such a way that it touches our heart, changes our life and leads us to actual wisdom realizations. There was particular emphasis on the presentation of the 15 meditations in The Mirror of Dharma with Additions, and encouragement to deepen our familiarity with the purpose and object of each meditation.
Venerable Geshe-la's on-going living presence throughout the weekend was palpable as those gathered listened to his heart advice in the blessed environment of Manjushri KMC.
Then we had an opportunity to immediately put into practice the instructions on training in meditation, during a short retreat with Gen Dornying. Over eight sessions we practiced just the one meditation - meditation on cherishing all living beings - each time going deeper by remembering Venerable Geshe-la's instructions.
Everyone deeply appreciated the unparalleled opportunity we had to improve ourself and to benefit others.
