The Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 launched in February 2025 at $249.99, putting them in the same price range as the AirPods Pro 2. This Prime Day, they're down to $179.95, which is a 28% discount and the lowest price they've hit since launch, according to price trackers.

If you're already in the Apple ecosystem, they connect the same way AirPods do, and you get features like active noise cancellation, transparency mode, and automatic device switching. The big difference is the form factor. These are built around ear hooks rather than a stem design, which makes them a better fit for people who find regular earbuds slipping out during workouts (as noted in our review)—made from nickel-titanium alloy, these ear hooks flex and conform to your ear without clamping down, and they hold through runs, lifting sessions, and anything else where you'd normally reach up to reseat a standard earbud.

You get four ear tip sizes in the box, and getting a proper fit helps both the noise cancellation and the overall sound (if you'd like help configuring all of the earbuds' features, you might want to check out our comprehensive guide) Their physical controls are another advantage during workouts—each earbud has a multifunction button and a separate volume rocker, which are easier to use with sweaty fingers than tiny touch panels. They're also rated IPX4, handling sweat and light rain without issue.

What do you think so far?

You won’t find an equalizer here, so the default tuning, which is bass-forward and best suited to hip-hop or electronic music, is what you're working with. Also, while the built-in heart-rate sensors can share data with supported fitness apps, inconsistent fit can affect the readings, and they are not a substitute for a reliable watch or chest strap, notes our senior health editor Beth Skwarecki. On the plus side, you get up to 10 hours per charge with noise cancellation off, or eight hours with ANC or Transparency mode enabled, with the case boosting total battery life to roughly 45 hours.
