I love this. It’s easy to get annoyed, but I honestly think, more often than not, people have good or neutral motives for saying what they say. I have a relative that often says the wildest things. He’s not offensive or mean, but I’m often left thinking “Why did you say that?” But this Thanksgiving, I decided he was just trying to connect with those around him, and I actually found myself enjoying him.
On another note, the best mom-out-in-public comment I ever got was when a woman saw me struggling with my three kids at the grocery store and said, “It’s SO hard, but it’s SO worth it.” It was just what I needed to hear.

I am over taking things so personally! I just try to be happy when someone sees me and wants to connect, even if they say something out of whack.
