TikTok videos come to airports in ReachTV deal
It's latest move by the platform to expand beyond mobile screens.
TikTok videos are coming to airports through a new partnership with airport TV network ReachTV.
Starting today, the series will feature thousands of curated travel and lifestyle TikTok videos from top creators on the platform. The content will air in three-minute blocks and be refreshed every hour across 90 commercial airports in the country, according to ReachTV. Travel and lifestyle TikTok videos are among the most popular genres on the social platform.
The news comes as TikTok has looked to expand beyond mobile phones, even as talks of banning the platform continue to grow. Earlier this week, it announced a deal with Screenvision, which sells ad inventory in movie theaters, to have TikTok content appear in movie pre-shows. Last November, TikTok’s head of global distribution and partnerships Dan Page said that the platform aimed to bring entertainment experiences to more screens outside of mobile.
