Travel Counsellors reports second-highest sales week in its history

Travel Counsellors has reported its second-highest sales week in its history, as well as corporate sales of £4.5m in May.

The independent travel company said it has recorded sales at 154% this month compared to the same point in 2019, partly due to the return of group and incentive business travel, with “many bookings” exceeding £500,000.

Long-haul travel has also returned, said the agency, with the US topping the UK as Travel Counsellors’ leading business travel destination. The UK is in second place and South Africa is in third.

Additionally, Travel Counsellors said it has gained 13% more new clients compared with the same period in 2019, claiming the personal service it offers is key to its growth.

Kieran Hartwell, Travel Counsellors managing director for corporate travel, said: “Our customers remained loyal to us during the pandemic.

“They know that we provide the highest level of customer service whilst fulfilling all their requirements. We offer that extra level of flexibility and peace of mind should business travel need to be changed or amended at the last minute.

“We are also witnessing a real revival of group travel, whether that be business or incentives.”
