Turkish Airlines raises capacity across UK to Istanbul

Turkish Airlines is expanding its schedule from four UK airports the summer.

Manchester will see an extra frequency to Istanbul added on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from May 19 to give a total of 25 flights a week during the summer peak.

The airline currently has three daily flights between the northern hub and the Turkish city.

Four extra flights a week will also be added from Birmingham to Istanbul.

A further four additional flights from Gatwick to Istanbul are also being introduced. 

This will see the carrier operate 112 weekly flights between London and Istanbul.

Three additional flights a week have been scheduled between Edinburgh and Istanbul to bring the total up to 10 flights a week.

The carrier also operates seven summer seasonal flights a week between Gatwick and Antalya.

The airline’s Manchester general manager Serhat Gok said: “Turkish Airlines’ four additional weekly flights to Istanbul will meet the expected rise in demand from customers keen to visit Turkey’s top tourism destination during the summer.

“Adding further weekly flights will give customers more opportunities to visit one of Turkey’s most popular spots for travellers keen to immerse themselves in its rich history and culture.”
