Vertical Travel Group homeworker hits £2m sales in less than a year

A Vertical Travel Group homeworking agent has achieved £2 million in sales even before the end of the company’s financial year in May.

Holiday Elite agent Pauline Ramsay reached the milestone figure while two other agents have hit £1.8 million and £1.7 million respectively.

Vertical’s homeworking division is made up of four brands – Holiday Elite, Your Holiday Booking, Instant Holidays and Instant Breaks – and has more than 200 homeworking agents.

Homeworking division sales are reported by the company to be up 74% year-on-year with agent productivity up by 50%.

The increases are reflected by more agents from both Holiday Elite and Your Holiday Booking having achieved more than £1 million sales this financial year, while others are on target to hit the same level before the end of April.

Ramsay, based in Edinburgh, said: “To have hit £2 million in sales with almost eight weeks to go in our financial year is an achievement I am so proud of.

“Never did I think I would achieve more than some stores do, after being in retail for over 16 years prior to becoming a homeworker seven years ago.

“I love my job and making my customers happy. Homeworking was the best thing I ever did. It is also the way forward for a lot of travel agents who might be thinking of doing it.

“I could never have done this volume of business without the help and guidance of the management team at Holiday Elite and the support of my husband and his endless cups of tea which have got me through some long days.”
