Ring’s cheapest video doorbell just got cheaper: The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is currently 40% off, dropping from its $65 price to $39. This is the 2021 version, and as the name implies, it is wired. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired is currently on sale at Amazon, BestBuy, and Target. It is at its lowest price, according to Camelcamelcamel’s price history.
What do you get with the Ring Video Doorbell Wired?
This Ring doorbell allows you to see, in 1080p video quality, who comes up to your door (or alerts you if someone comes to steal your Amazon packages). You can also hear and talk to people through your Ring app on your phone, and it has night vision installed. You receive notifications on your phone any time there is motion on your camera, and you get a video replay of that motion alert (you can also change this under your notifications if you don’t want to be bothered all the time).
If you have an Alexa smart speaker, you can connect your Ring doorbell to hear the chime when someone rings the doorbell, or when it detects motion activity.
What don’t you get?
This version needs to be wired, unlike the higher priced models ones that are battery-powered. So you will need to have existing doorbell wiring to connect the new doorbell. This version also comes with no chime, so you will need to purchase an ancillary chime or connect to Alexa to get notifications. You can also buy the Ring with the chime as a bundle for $64, which is also discounted here.

Be mindful that Ring, along with Google, has a history of sharing video footage with law enforcement during emergencies without consent and without warrants, according to a Politico report.
