This year at the Canadian National Festival 2023 attendees will be granted a Blessing Empowerment of Buddha Avalokiteshvara and will receive teachings on compassion with Gen Samten Kelsang.
Canada Festival 2023 with Gen Samten Kelsang
Gen Samten Kelsang is an ordained Buddhist monk and is the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center New York. He has been studying and practicing Buddhism for over thirty years and is one of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s most senior students.
Gen Samten Kelsang will teach how to increase love, compassion, and bodhichitta. Specifically, he will guide participants on taking concrete actions to benefit others through the practice of the eleven main ways of helping others as presented by Arya Asanga. By engaging in these methods, compassion will continuously expand until it becomes an ocean of compassion, reflecting the universal compassion of a fully enlightened being, a Buddha.
