People are complex, diverse, and wonderful, but in at least one way, we all fall into one of two categories: We either care about wrinkly bedsheets or we couldn’t give even a single shit about them. However, whether you are militantly anti-wrinkle or wholly disinterested in the sharpness of your bedding, there are a couple of good reasons to take your sheets out of the dryer while they’re still damp—and put them right onto your bed.
Damp sheets helps eliminate wrinkles
TikTokkers have been uploading videos of themselves using this hack for a while now. They are particularly pleased with how the sheets are “crisper” when this is done right. But this tip predates TikTok, too: Homemaking.com recommends it, and some TikTok commenters even say this is how they’ve seen it done in hotels.
To achieve maximum wrinkle domination, put your sheets in the dryer after washing them, then take them out while they’re damp but not wet. Just a little dampness is all you need. Spread them over your bed as usual, then turn on your fan. Some CleanTok experts recommend doing this first thing in the morning to give them plenty of time to dry through the day before you get back in bed. According to 12 Tomatoes, you have to keep your comforter off the sheets until they’re dry. Instead of drying fully in the dryer and getting wrinkly, they’ll dry flat and tight on the bed.

This also helps them smell better
Letting the sheets dry on the bed instead of in the dryer also has the same effect as drying clothes on the line: They’ll smell better and be softer than if they get blasted with hot air in the machine.
