EasyJet holidays adds Spain and Malta options to Southend portfolio
Airline previously announced three-aircraft base from March 2025
EasyJet holidays has released additional package options from Southend airport, including Malta and mainland Spain for the first time.
The operator now offers 10 destinations, including Reus, Alicante, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Pisa and Marrakech, plus Antalya, Dalaman and Enfidha in Turkey.
The growing programme follows easyJet’s previous announcement that it would create its 10th base at Southend from March next year, with three 186-seat Airbus A320neo aircraft deployed. The carrier also serves destinations including Paris, Malaga, Palma and Amsterdam from the airport.
In conjunction with the announcement, easyJet holidays has updated its trade portal to allow agents to download digital quotes for package holidays from Southend.
Natasha Marson, head of trade distribution, said: “We’re thrilled to be offering even more holidays from Southend with a variety of popular destinations across Europe and North Africa for summer 2025. We can’t wait to continue supporting agents within the Southend area, by offering brilliant value package holidays.”
Speaking at the announcement of the base in May, easyJet chief executive Johan Lundgren said: “We are delighted to be announcing another three-aircraft base in the UK, at London Southend airport.
“This will create hundreds of jobs and provide more choice for consumers with new routes and package holidays.
“Our continued growth and investment in the UK highlights the importance of the market where this year we will operate more flying than ever before with our customers choosing our flights and holidays because of our trusted brand, unrivalled network and great value fares.”
