Ex-SAS operative to create Cunard shore experiences

A former Special Forces soldier has been enlisted by Cunard to curate a programme of shore excursions in the Mediterranean.
Mountain trekking and paddle boarding are among the activities under consideration by Jay Morton, who was deployed on multiple Tier 1 operations during ten years in the SAS a former member of the directing staff on Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins series.
He will play an active role in researching, testing, and developing a variety of new shore-based activities for thrill-seeking passengers, according to the line.
Morton, who has climbed Mount Everest twice, is sailing on Queen Elizabeth this week ask a guest speaker. He also plans to hike to the summit of Mont Boron Hill in Villefranche, France, as well as trek up the Monte Pisano mountain range near Pisa as part of his research.
Morton said: “It is a real pleasure to have teamed up with Cunard for this collaboration and to have the opportunity to provide guests with exciting new activities that are every bit as unique as the luxury service they experience on board.
“Whether it’s trekking up a mountain or paddle boarding in the ocean, I’m excited to create a number of new destination experiences that provide the perfect balance of excitement and relaxation.
