Singapore’s sole piped town gas provider, City Energy, announced the launch of Go, its electric vehicle (EV) charging service today (Apr 19).

Go has partnered with Malaysia’s EV Connection Sdn Bhd to extend the charging connectivity into Malaysia, and claims that it will be the first EV charging service provider to offer seamless operational service across Singapore and Malaysia with just one mobile application.

Go’s charge points will have both standard AC chargers and DC fast chargers. The company plans to make more charge points available to customers in the near future as well, and install them at private condominiums in Singapore.

So far, Go charging locations have been confirmed in Fernvale, Marine Parade, Marymount, Changi, Holland Village, Newton, Bugis, Bukit Timah, Yishun, Bukit Batok, and Punggol.

Perry Ong, City Energy’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed that as the company pivots to be a green energy solutions provider, the launch of Go will enable them to continue to provide green energy for Singapore, as well as for drivers on both sides of the Causeway and along the North South Highway. “We are confident that both consumers and real estate developers will take advantage of the total value we offer for greener and smarter living.”

These sentiments were echoed by Lee Yuen How, founder of EV Connection and Managing Director of JomCharge.

“EV Connection strives to provide practical solutions to spearhead the green industry here in Malaysia. This groundbreaking strategic partnership with Go by City Energy allows both Singapore and Malaysia EV drivers to extend their range across both countries for maximum connectivity and convenience,” said Lee.
