ComfortDelGro merges its taxi app with Zig – users can book rides, reserve restaurants and more
Users can book taxi and ride-hailing services, make restaurant reservations, as well as access new services like EV charging in a single app.
Local taxi operator ComfortDelGro announced today (April 19) that its taxi booking app will be relaunched as CDG Zig following a merger with its now-decommissioned lifestyle app Zig.
Zig was first launched in 2021 as the Group’s foray into the lifestyle mobility sector. The app allows users to book a taxi, plan their journey, make dining or hotel reservations, place click-to-collect orders at food and beverage outlets, find deals, and buy tickets for attractions and entertainment outlets.
However, in early March, ComfortDelGro has shut down the Zig app and move its services to the main app.
Under this refreshed CDG Zig app, users will be able to book taxi and ride-hailing services, make restaurant reservations, as well as access new services like electric vehicle (EV) charging.

There are currently about 40 EV charging points listed on the app, which will grow to over 600 by the end of the year.
More services will be added to the app
According to ComfortDelGro, it will continue to add more services from its range of businesses — from car rental to driving lessons — over time.
“We plan to add more services that the Group has like private bus, car rental, learner driving and medical transport into the app progressively. The intent is to cross-market our extensive range of transport solutions to bring greater convenience to the different communities that we serve,” said Jackson Chia, CEO of ComfortDelGro’s Private Mobility Group (PMG).
“The decision to rebrand the apps that the Group has into an all-in-one CDG Zig app is a step forward in our strategy to give our customers access to our range of mobility and lifestyle offerings via a unified digital platform,” he added.

Existing ComfortDelGro’s taxi booking app users need not re-register on the new app, and are simply required to update their app. Their existing favourited locations and journeys, in-app cashless payment options, promo codes and ComfortPoints, will also be automatically ported over to the new app.
