Government to ditch Plan B restrictions from next week
Work from home advice and face masks in shops rule removed
The government has dropped its advice for people in England to work from home if they can.
Prime minister Boris Johnson told the House of Commons today that the government would remove its Plan B restrictions, introduced in December to combat the spread of the Omicron variant, next week.
As well as advice to work from home where possible, the Plan B measures also include the mandating of face masks in public spaces such as shops and on public transport.
