Gut, DDB, Omnicom, Somesuch and Apple win final prizes at Cannes 2023
Gut takes three of the seven specialty awards on the last night of the festival.
In addition to the final Grand Prix, the annual creative-company awards were handed out Friday at Cannes Lions, with Gut winning three of the seven prizes.
Gut Buenos Aires was named Agency of the Year, after picking up two Grand Prix this week—in Creative Data for Stella Artois and Mobile for Pedidos Ya—as well as seven Gold, seven Silver and three Bronze Lions for those clients and three others. Gut was also named Network of the Year as well as Independent Network of the Year.
Meanwhile, Omnicom was named Creative Company of the Year; DDB Worldwide was Network of the Year; and Apple was Creative Brand of the Year. Somesuch won the Palme d’Or as the year’s top production company.

• Independent Agency of the Year: 1) Gut, Buenos Aires, 2) Rethink, Toronto, 3) Wieden+Kennedy, Portland
• Palme d’Or: 1) Somesuch, USA, 2) Smuggler, U.K., 3) Biscuit Filmworks, USA, 4) Spoon, Japan, 5) Rebolucion, Mexico
• Creative Brand of the Year: 1) Apple, 2) Dove, 3) Heineken
Several honorary awards were bestowed as well. Anheuser-Busch InBev was celebrated as Creative Marketer of the Year. Susan Hoffman accepted the Lion of St. Mark for lifetime achievement. And Spike Lee was honored as Creative Maker of the Year.
