Hays agents raise £2k+ with moonlight walk for mental health charity

A group of Hays Travel agents raised more than £2,000 recently for a leading young person’s mental health charity.

Teams from six branches of Hays Travel took part in the 10-mile looped route walk through the heart of London at dusk earlier this month.

The annual ‘Thames Moonlight 10’ walking challenge takes volunteers on a route past London landmarks as darkness falls and the moon rises.
Participants can fundraise for a charity of their choice.

The Hays Travel teams from branches in Bexleyheath, Harrow, Eltham, Romford, Southend and South Woodham Ferrers raised a total of £2,165 for the young people’s mental health charity.

Katrina Pike, branch manager in Bexleyheath, said: “It was an exceptional evening filled with heartfelt strides and unified spirits as we embarked on the Thames Moonlight 10 mile walk for YoungMinds.

“I’d like to say a massive well done to all my colleagues who took part – it was a great achievement.

“We are proud to be part of an organisation so committed to helping others. It means so much to be able to make a difference to our chosen charity, YoungMinds.”

Rachael Dawney, Hays Travel regional sales manager, added: “I am super proud of the Hays Travel team members who completed the Thames Moonlight 10.

“I know many of the team really needed to push themselves out of their comfort zone to complete the walk and I am thrilled with the incredible amount of money that they have raised for YoungMinds.”

Every year, each of Hays Travel’s 490 branches receives a £500 budget to use for fundraising and charity work in their local community.

Camille Meehan of YoungMinds said: “We’re so grateful for your incredible support of YoungMinds. Our vision is clear: we want to see a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health. You are helping us achieve this, thank you.”
